Final BHS stores close signalling end of an era for high street

The final 22 British Home Stores outlets are closing today, meaning the retailer will no longer be present on the high street.

Two of the final stores to shut are in the Midlands - the store in Leicester city centre and the store at Merry Hill shopping centre, bringing 88 years of retailing for the company to an end.

In total, 11,000 jobs have been lost across the country. But Ninder Johal thinks the Black Country is well placed to provide new jobs for those affected.
