Fan cashes out £20 bet on Leicester City to win the league for £29,000
A Leicester City supporter who bet £20 on his team to win the Premier League has cashed out his stake early, to win £29,000.
Jon Pryke could have won £100,000 after initially getting odds of 5000/1 at the start of the season.
But his nerve has not held out, despite Leicester sitting three points clear at the top with just 10 games to go.
He said he feels the Foxes' luck may be running out.
Originally his plan for the winnings was to buy a bungalow, but he's now down-scaled that ambition, saying he'll just order more Chinese food when Leicester travel to Watford on Saturday.
But Mr Pryke's winnings don't look like being limited to £29,000 this season though, as he has also backed his side to finish in the top four in the league, at odds of 400/1. Leicester are currently 10 points clear of fifth place.
Ladbrokes said a total of 47 people had backed Leicester to win the league at 5,000/1 odds, and Mr Pryke was the fourth of those to cash out early.
