Derby Arena will host its first major sporting fixture later, after its grand opening last week.
Milton Keynes are the visitors to the £28million venue as Team Derby host their first home game in the National Badminton League.
The University of Derby team is led by home-grown player Donna Kellogg and includes the UK number one ranked men's singles player, Rajiv Ouseph, and Olympic silver medallist Gail Emms.
