Special event opens Derby Arena

Dame Sarah Storey told ITV News Central the new Derby Arena 'will serve Derby well for a long time'.

She spoke to James Clark at a special event to mark the opening.

Steve Clamp had a sneak peak inside the Derby Arena before the special ceremony got underway to officially open it.

He also spoke to Cllr Martin Repton, from Derby City Council, who defended the £28million spent on the venue.

World champion cyclist Dani King says she got goosebumps when she first arrived at the new Derby Arena.

Final preparations have been taking place ahead of the opening of the £28million Derby Arena.
