Fake Disney's 'Frozen' goods seized over strangulation fears

Hundreds of fake Disney ‘Frozen’ items have been seized from a shop in Newark following a tip-off from a member of the public.

A number of items were collected by Nottinghamshire Trading Standards including children’s hooded tops with tightening cords which were dangerous due to the risk of strangulation.

Pyjamas and fancy-dress costumes were also seized after it was likely they wouldn't meet ‘flammability’ standards.

Many of the fancy dress outfits were on sale for £19.99, a child’s coat was available for £24.99 and large Queen Elsa doll for £19.99.

The County Council is carrying out an investigation and plans to destroy all of the items.

The seizure follows last weeks safety warning about ‘snap’ bracelets available online with counterfeit ‘Frozen’ branding.
