Parents warned over danger of fake 'Frozen' snap bracelets

Parents are being warned about 'snap bracelet' children's toys with counterfeit branding of Disney's 'Frozen' on them, that are potentially dangerous for children.

The bracelets are made up of a flat steel spring band, sealed with a plastic cover. It wraps around the wrist when slapped against it. They are cheaply available on online auction sites.

One council is warning that the plastic casing on the fake band is only very thin, and that it is likely to rip, exposing a sharp, cut-up piece of metal that could cut a child's wrist.

The warning has come after a woman from Newark raised concerns to Nottinghamshire County Council's Trading Standards team about two packs she bought online.

Anyone who knows of similar bracelets being sold is advised to contact Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 03454 04 05 06.
