Blind Dave, a running enthusiast and motivational speaker from West Bromwich, is the latest recipient of a Point of Light award.

The award recognises outstanding individual volunteers, who are making a change in their community and inspiring others.

Dave was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa at 10-years-old, a condition which meant he would lose his eyesight completely.

He has not let his blindness stop him, completing a number of endurance challenges and raising a remarkable £500,000 for national and international charities.

This year, despite being 57-years-old, Dave has already taken on a 100km cycling challenge and he doesn't look like he is planning to relax anytime soon!
