Man crushed by falling tree named
A man who died after being struck by a falling tree has been named as John Arthur White.
The 83-year-old man was riding his mobility scooter through King’s Park in Retford, when the tree fell.
Police were called to the scene at about 1.50pm on Thursday 5 December.
An ambulance attended but Mr White was pronounced dead at the scene.
The park has been closed until further notice.

Normal service resumes at Leeds Bradford Airport
Leeds Bradford Airport have confirmed that the airport is back to normal after today's stormy conditions wreaked travel chaos.
An improvement in the weather means that the flights are arriving and departing the airport as normal, but bosses are saying that due to the backlog created today, some services may still be delayed.

Man killed by falling tree in Nottinghamshire
A man has died in Nottinghamshire after a tree fell on him.
Police were called to King's Park in Retford at around 2pm. A tree had fallen on the man as he rode his mobility through the park.
An ambulance went to the scene but the man was pronounced dead. The park has been closed until further notice.
Hull building collapses and crushes cars
A building in Hull has partially collapsed, crushing cars, after gale-force winds. No one was hurt when the wall of Nu-Stock on Clough Road fell down.
Barry Smith runs the business and says it's just lucky no one was inside the cars.
School roof ripped off by wind
The roof of Hayfield School in Auckley, Doncaster has blown off in high winds.
