Murder investigation launched after woman's body found in Halifax

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman's body was found at a house in West Yorkshire.Officers were called to reports of a body at a property on Aysgarth Avenue in Lightcliffe, near Halifax, at 4.38pm on Sunday.A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.

West Yorkshire Police said they were not actively seeking any further suspects in connection with the death.A police cordon has been put in place around Asygarth Avenue and the surrounding area while detectives carry out the murder investigation.
