The newest addition at a West Yorkshire tourist attraction has been named in honour of Leeds United's return to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years.

The penguin chick was named after the White's manager Bielsa, after his team remarkably secured the Championship and promotion to football’s top table and also marks the manager's 65th birthday.

Bielsa was one of a clutch of baby penguins to be born a few weeks ago at Lotherton Hall in Leeds and they have been settling in under the watchful eyes of their mums and dads as well as the team of experts at the Aberford estate’s Wildlife World attraction.

After finding their feet, the chicks have waddled their way to its impressive 120,000 litre pool.

He added that the chicks are 'extremely delicate ad vulnerable and have been having regular check-ups from specialist vets.

The penguins have now joined the Wildlife World’s colony of Humboldt penguins who are native to the west coast of Chile and Peru. Humboldt penguins are classified as vulnerable by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

Wildlife World recently fully reopened to the public after closing to help contain the spread of coronavirus.
