Lincoln City has said its management team deserve the attention of clubs at a higher level, but deny any official talks have yet taken place over Danny Cowley.

The boss had been tipped to be in talks with West Bromwich, who are in search of a new manager after parting with Darren Moore.

But in a statement the Imps denied "any club" had many an "official approach" to speak with Danny or his co-manager brother, Nicky.

The Imps were crowned champions of League Two in April and, next season, will play in the third tier of English football for the first time in 20 years.
