One carriageway reopens after lorry fire closes M1 near Lofthouse

A lorry fire on the M1 near Lofthouse temporarily closed both carriageways, due to the extent of the billowing smoke.

The fire has now been extinguished, but the southbound carriageway remains closed.

Routes through East Ardsley, Tingley and Beeston are suffering.

Fire services remain on scene and expect the road to be closed until this evening.
