Hundreds of campaigners take part in national NHS demo
Hundreds of protesters from our region have headed to London for today's big demonstration in support of the NHS.
Among those making the journey were campaigners from Huddersfield and Grantham who are trying to save their Accident and Emergency units.
Chris Kiddey reports.
The A and E service at Grantham Hospital has been closed overnight since August last year and was meant to reopen after three months.
Campaigners now have more than fifty thousand names on a petition to save the A and E service in the town.
Melissa Darcey from Fighting 4 Life in Lincolnshire said that having to travel 45 miles in an emergency was 'just not acceptable'.
The trust which runs the A and Department in Grantham say its closed due to a shortage if doctors- but they are trying to recruit more.
Campaigners fear it could be downgraded to an urgent care centre instead.
