12 people re-homed and two men arrested after drugs raid

12 people have been re-homed and two men have been arrested after a drugs warrant was executed on a street in Scunthorpe.

Officers recovered Class A and B drugs and seized money linked to criminality after the incident on Buckingham Street.

The men, aged 26 and 22, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs. They were all released on police bail pending further enquiries till a date in October.

Following the warrant, the council re-homed 12 people found to be living at the address and closed the property due to the disrepair it was in.

One and half lorry loads of rubbish were also cleared from the house.

Chief Inspector Jenny Bristow said: “Drug dealing has an adverse impact on communities in the form of anti-social behaviour and other criminality and we are committed to tackling those responsible.

"The negative impact of drugs is widespread and far reaching creating victims and ruining family relationships. In some cases it can lead to the exploitation of vulnerable people."
