A fire in November ripped through a section of Peebles High School causing "significant damage" to art classrooms and a gymnasium.

Scottish Borders Council have announced that temporary teaching for Peebles High School pupils will continue after the Christmas holidays.

Art classrooms, a gymnasium and surrounding areas suffered "significant damage" forcing pupils to remain at home. 

The extent of the damage caused to Peebles High School is not yet known.
