Nine fire crews tackle large wildfire in Dumfries and Galloway

Firefighters are at the scene of a large wildfire in Dumfries and Galloway.

Nine crews are currently tackling the blaze near Mossdale, which was called in at 1:15pm on Thursday afternoon.

There has been no indication of how the wildfire started and whether or not it has spread.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “There are no reported casualties. Crews will remain in attendance for some time.”
