Body found in search for man last seen in the River Kent
A search party looking for a missing man who entered the water in the River Kent have found a body.
At 3pm today police officers discovered the body of a man in the area of Levens Lane.
Police responded to a call at 6:30am on 11 August after concern for the safety of a man and a woman in the water at Sedgwick, near Kendal.
They were able to find the woman, but were unable to find the man at the time.
The North West Ambulance Service, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, Mountain Rescue, Bay Search and Rescue and the Coastguard all worked together to search for the local man.
A formal identification has not yet taken place and inquiries are ongoing.
