Eyemouth RNLI lifeboats search for dog in cliff fall

Following reports that a dog had fallen over a cliff, the UK Coastguard launched Eyemouth RNLI lifeboats last night, Friday 1 September, around 6.25pm.

Arriving immediately on scene, both lifeboats commenced a search of the area in and around Eyemouth bay, whilst Coastguard teams carried out a shoreline search.

Further reports indicated the dog was last seen on Eyemouth beach, however, following checks with members of the public in the area, search teams were not able to locate it.

After speaking to some more local residents the crew became aware that the dog had made its own way to safety and all units were stood down.
