Giant swing to open at Galloway Activity Centre

The highest 3G swing in Scotland will be opened to the public at Galloway Activity Centre on Saturday 8 July.

The swing is 40-foot-high and can carry up to three people a a time.

Designed to be used by people of any age, the swing is released by a parachute mechanism at any stage during the ascent, allowing people to go as high, as far os as fast as they wish.

Visit Scotland Regional Director, Paula Ward, and MSP for Dumfries & Galloway, Finlay Carson; will launch and try out the swing in front of the attending crowd.

The centre's director says their new accommodation occupancy is at 80% and on busy days the centre has provided activities for up to 200 people.

It is anticipated that Scotland’s new tourism attraction may bring up to £25,000 and up to 1,500 new visitors to the centre.
