Councillors have agreed to an independent inquiry into the DG One leisure building. This follows a meeting into the 'fundamental flaws' in the construction of several government buildings in Dumfries & Galloway.

Councillors also agreed to work on the problems of the DG One building, with the aims to make it operational again.

The initial report stated the condition of the building was much worse than was thought.

Dumfries & Galloway council leader, Elaine Murray, said she will write to the Health and Safety Executive for an investigation, as well as to the Chief Constable of Police Scotland, for the case of any possible prosecution.
