Scurry of red squirrels found living in roof of Workington house
A family of red squirrels have made a roof of a house in Workington their home.
The owners of the home in Seaton, say they came across the scurry of squirrels while repairing a small hole in the fascia board of their roof.
The red squirrel babies have been born and are now in the process of weaning and venture out during the day.
One of the owners of the home, Rachel Kirk, said her son told he saw a red squirrel sitting on their bathroom window sill, but she thought he was mistaken.
Red squirrels are a rare sight in the wild, and are an even rarer sight in built up housing estates.
