£3.5 million investment in Borders buses
A new bus service has taken over in the Scottish Borders this week, marking a £3.5 million investment in the transport system.
Borders Buses Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of West Coast Motors, took over First Scotland East’s operations in the region at the weekend.
The money will be used to invest in 30 new vehicles, ticketing systems and real time information for customers.
Eventually the buses will be painted red and white in keeping with the parent company's colours.
Bus tickets, excluding First 4 Weekly, will remain the same for the immediate future.
