M6 closed after serious crash near Carlisle
The northbound carriageway of the M6 at Junction 44, near Carlisle, remains closed after an accident involving a hay wagon
Emergency services and the Great North Air Ambulance were called to the scene at 10:24am.
The wagon is reported to have hit the central reservation while travelling on the northbound carriageway.
The driver of the HGV, a 73-year-old man from North Yorkshire, has been taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in a critical condition.
