Humans are to blame for seagulls stealing food and being aggressive, according to scientists.

An investigation has shown that humans are to blame for seagulls' behaviour because we provide the food and resources to lure them towards urban environments, before demonising the birds.

Less than a month ago, people living in Maryport struggled to receive their mail because of swooping seagulls.

Meanwhile in Dumfries and Galloway, residents have been urged to report seagulls nests before the eggs hatch.
