'Swooping' seagull attacks stop post in Cumbrian town
Royal Mail has apologised after people in Maryport didn't get their post because of "swooping seagull attacks".
In a statement, they said four properties in the town didn't receive their mail on Tuesday, 5 July, due to the attacks.
A spokesperson said: "The safety of our people is paramount to Royal Mail and these swooping attacks made it difficult for the postwoman to continue to do her job."
Paul Blenkharn, from the Brooklands area of the town, received a missed delivery card stating "street inaccessible due to dangerous conditions".
The condition in question was listed as "seagulls".
ITV Border spoke to the Mayor of Maryport, who is rejecting calls for seagulls to be culled in the town.
