Tim Farron's glee at Prefab Sprout meet

The Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron has expressed his excitement after meeting a member of 80s band Prefab Sprout.

At last year's party conference the Westmorland and Lonsdale MP revealed he is a fan of the band, naming member Wendy Smith as the person he would most like to meet.

BBC Radio 4 then surprised the Cumbria MP by introducing him to his teenage crush live on air.

The party leader has previously revealed he himself was once in a band.
