A man has been arrested after ten guns, and a large amount of ammunition, were found during police raids in Cumbria and Lancashire.

The 49-year-old was arrested in Holme, south Cumbria, at around 7am this morning.

Cumbria Police launched three simultaneous raids, at the man's house in Holme, a farm outbuilding in the Milnthorpe, and a lock-up garage in Morecambe.

They were working with Titan - the North West's organised crime unit - and the National Crime Agency.

The man was arrested for firearms related offences, and during a search of his home address officers found a loaded handgun, a loaded revolver, and a pistol.

At the farm in Milnthorpe they seized two sawn-off pump-action shotguns along with three disassembled shotguns, two disassembled bolt-action rifles and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

The firearms and ammunition will be examined by experts, and forensic examinations are taking place at all three properties.
