Football tournament to remember PC Bill Barker
A football tournament to remember PC Bill Barker is being held by Cumbria Constabulary.
The annual event is in memory of the PC, who drowned when the old Northside Bridge in Workington collapsed in the floods of 2009.
It will take place on Friday 18 September 2015 at Whitehaven Amateurs Football Club.
Teams from the North, South and West Territorial Policing Areas (TPAs) and a team from Cumbria Police HQ will compete against each other for the Bill Barker Memorial Trophy.
It's the sixth year of the tournament, and will raise money for Bill’s chosen charity, The Great North Air Ambulance ‘Pride of Cumbria’.
Last year’s tournament saw the South Cumbria TPA lift the trophy and £300 raised.
