Cumbria’s GCSE results
Students across Cumbria have been celebrating their GCSE exam results.
Official figures have shown that for the first time in the exams history the proportion of pupils gaining at least a grade C has fallen.
But these students from Richard RoseCentral Academy were pleased with their results.
Some pupils getting their English GCSE results are being warned their papers may have been downgraded from what they were expecting.
Russ Wallace is the outgoing head of the Carlisle academy. He explained to our correspondent John Bevir that he was pleased with this year's results. He said the question about the English results is one the unions need to take up.
