Eight more patients have died with coronavirus in the Anglia region
The NHS reported on Thursday that eight more coronavirus patients had died in hospitals in the Anglia region following 24 deaths announced on Wednesday.
The total number of patients dying in the hospitals in the Anglia region has now reached 4,051 and the total number of deaths in all settings, including care home, hospitals and in the community is 5,821.
Three of the deaths announced in Thursday figures occurred early in June but have only just been included in the totals. They were two patients dying at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital in Bedfordshire on the 5th and 8th June and a patient dying on the 8th June at the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Trust, which operates the main hospitals in Ipswich and Colchester.
A further patient passed away with Covid-19 at Northampton General Hospital on Monday taking the total number of deaths there to 298. Another coronavirus patient died at the James Paget Hospital in Gorleston on Sunday.
Thursday figures also included three patients who had Covid-19 mentioned on their death certificate but where no positive test was received.
