The number of patients dying with coronavirus in the Anglia region is lowest for a month

According to the latest figures released by NHS England the number of people dying with coronavirus in hospitals in the Anglia region was 39, the lowest daily figure since March.

The total number of patients dying in the region's hospitals since the start of the outbreak is now 2,736.

The daily figures do usually drop at the weekend as there are delays in reporting the deaths. Last Sunday, NHS England announced 51 deaths in the Anglia region with 41 reported on Monday and the following day they had risen to 74.

There were seven more patients who died at Northampton General Hospital reported on Sunday taking the total number of deaths there to 164.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow in Essex reported three more of its patients had died with a total there of 194.

Across England, a further 327 people, who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 21,180.

NHS England said the patients were aged between 46 and 101 years old and 17 of them had no known underlying health condition.

The figures released by NHS England on a daily basis do not include people dying in hospices, in care homes or in their own home.
