Coronavirus deaths in the Anglia region reach 1,164
The number of patients dying with Covid-19 in hospitals in the Anglia region has reached 1,164 with a further 88 deaths announced on Monday.
The figures released by NHS England cover the period until 5pm on Sunday 12 April but only include patients dying in hospitals and not in care homes or in the community.
Basildon Hospital in Essex announced a further 19 deaths between the 8th and 12th April. The total number of deaths there has now reached 121.
The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow has seen 117 deaths with an additional seven announced on Monday.
The number of deaths in Essex alone have now reached 463, which represents 40% of all the deaths in the Anglia region.
Across England, a further 667 people, who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 10,261.
NHS England said: "Patients were aged between 17 and 101 years old. 40 of the 667 patients (aged between 37 and 98 years old) had no known underlying health condition."

The rise in confirmed coronavirus in the Anglia region has remained below 10% for three consecutive days with an additional 378 cases reported on Monday by Public Health England.
There have been 6,617 positive tests for Covid-19 in the region a rise of 6% since Sunday.
Essex is still reporting the most cases in the East of England with a further 75 cases reported on Monday taking the county total to 1,887.
The largest percentage rise in the number of cases in the Anglia region was in Norfolk and Suffolk where it went up 9% from 539 to 595 in Norfolk and from 422 to 458 in Suffolk.

The Bedfordshire figures are the local authorities of Bedford, Luton and Central Bedfordshire combined. Cambridgeshire includes Peterborough and Essex includes Southend and Thurrock.
