Police say a murder case has taken an 'extraordinary twist' - the victim may still be alive
A man from Wisbech who was believed to have been murdered may still be alive, according to police.
Ricardas Puisys disappeared without a trace in September 2015 and a murder investigation was launched.
But now a Facebook page has been set up using his name prompting a new police appeal.
The 35-year-old was last seen at work in Chatteris in September 2015.
Friends became concerned for his whereabouts and contacted the police who treated the investigation as a murder case.
Initially, a man was arrested as part of the murder probe but he was released without charge.
Now - four years later - police officers say the case has taken an extraordinary twist, after photographs of someone who appears to be Mr Puisys appeared on a Facebook account in his name.
Detective Chief Inspector Adam Gallop from Cambridgeshire Major Crime Unit said:
The police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward and help them close the case.
