This weekend marks the return of the East Anglian derby after a season's absence and both clubs will be looking to get one over the old enemy.

The Canaries have had the upper hand in recent times, but Town have home advantage at Portman Road and will be confident of getting revenge.

  • Form guide

Ipswich Town have made a mixed start to the season and currently sit in mid-table.

Mick McCarthy's side haven't been able to kick on from a 4-2 win over Barnsley on the opening day, and have suffered a loss and a draw in the following away games at Brentford and Wolves.

Norwich City appear to be in better shape though and have taken seven points from nine available.

They've already beaten Blackburn Rovers and Bristol City, but were held to a goalless draw by Sheffield Wednesday.

  • Players to watch

It will be the first taste of the 'Old Farm rivalry' for new Ipswich Town winger Grant Ward, but the former Tottenham man has certainly made a big impression after joining earlier this month.

A hat-trick on his debut against Barnsley was a dream start and his reputation with the Ipswich fans will rocket further if he can score against the Canaries.

At the other end of the scale, experienced Norwich City playmaker Wes Hoolahan is arguably in the form of his life.

The 34-year-old was a revalation for the Republic of Ireland at the Euros and has carried his form into The Championship.

Hoolahan has the quality to cause problems for most defences at this level and could be the key to taking the three points back to Norfolk.

  • Team news

Brett Pitman and Jacob Murphy should feature for their respective clubs. Credit: PA

Ipswich Town could welcome back striker Brett Pitman who returned to training today.

On loan winger Conor Grant and midfielder Luke Hyam are definitely out though, while striker David McGoldrick will be sidelined for the considerable future.

As for Norwich City, they'll be without a number of key players for the trip to Portman Road.

Michael McGovern will continue to deputise for the injured John Ruddy in goal and Robbie Brady will cover at left-back following Martin Olsson's hamstring strain.

The game will also come too soon for Alex Pritchard, but Jacob Murphy should be fit enough to feature.
