NHS Thank You: Mum praises 'amazing' staff for saving premature baby
This image of baby Theo in the arms of his mother has been shared around the world, giving hope in dark times.
Little Theo was born three months early, weighing little more than a bag of sugar when he entered the world.
After nine weeks in hospital, he has finally been allowed home with mum Kirsty and dad Leon, allowing him to finally meet his big brother Arlo.
Kirsty and Leon were only allowed to visit their son once a day due to coronavirus restrictions in hospital.
The pair formed strong bonds with the hospital staff who have allowed Theo to leave hospital fit and healthy.
“I don’t have the words, I really don’t,” Kirsty said.
“You’ve all been amazing and I’d hate to think what would happen if you weren’t there.”
Kirsty thanked midwife Demi Clarkin on a video call for helping the family through.
Leon, however, has a different way in which he would like to show his gratitude.“I am sure if we see them out around here when pubs are open, we will get a few drinks in,” he joked.
