NHS Thank You: Heart transplant patient given a 'second chance at life' after eight operations
At just 32-years-old, Phill Hardwell has been given a new lease of life after successful heart transplant surgery at Royal Papworth Hospital near Cambridge.
The former army serviceman underwent eight operations before being well enough to be discharged and return to his family.
Now he's had the chance to thanks the NHS staff who helped save his life, as well as the donor who gave him "a second chance".
