Violence escalates as person shot during anti-Trump protest
A person was shot among a crowd of anti-Donald Trump protesters where demonstrations against the president-elect had already turned violent.
Rallies involving hundreds of people in Portland, Oregon, have broken out into rallies and violence with police making numerous arrests.
On Saturday, Portland police reported that one person had been shot on a bridge and urged protesters to evacuate the area.
Over the past few days, police in Portland have been pelted with missiles thrown by objectors.
On Thursday, police in California declared unlawful assembly after hundreds of protesters gathered for similar demonstrations - with some blocking an interchange on Interstate Highway 580.
Across the east coast, the cities of Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta and Miami have been flooded with hundreds of people marching through them with banners and placards.
