Claims Cara Delevingne was too 'bloated' for Victoria's Secret show are 'complete fabrication'
Cara Delevingne has hit back at a newspaper's claims she was "too bloated" to appear in a Victoria's Secret show.
The supermodel posted a letter from the CMO of the US underwear giant on her Instagram account which labelled The Sun's report as "a complete fabrication".
She added the caption: "It's shameless to discuss women's bodies just to sell papers #bloated."
Last week, the newspaper wrote that Cara, 24, was "reportedly turned down in 2014 for being 'bloated', after two years of starring on the runway".
But Edward Razek, a Victoria's Secret executive, wrote to Cara saying: "This week's article in British paper The Sun regarding you and the 2014 Victoria's Secret fashion show is a complete fabrication.
"Contrary to The Sun's claims, which they never bothered to fact check with me, Victoria's Secret made every effort to have you in the London show... You were the first person invited, months ahead of everyone else."
Cara, who has 35 million followers on Instagram, appeared in the Victoria's Secret shows in 2012 and 2013.
The Mail On Sunday also published the same report that Cara was too "bloated".
The paper wrote in 2014 that male model Robert Konjic said: "They are famously strict - if you let go even a little, then they don't want you.
"So I wasn't surprised that Cara wasn't walking this year. I bumped into her at the British Fashion Awards and she looked very bloated."
