Boy, 6, dies three days after multiple school shooting
A six-year-old boy has died three days after being shot in the leg at his school.
Jacob Hall was wounded at Townville Elementary School, South Carolina, on Wednesday after a 14-year-old boy opened fire.
A female teacher and another six-year-old boy were also injured in the attack, but later released from hospital.
Jacob lost a significant amount of blood after being hit in the leg by a bullet, and was placed on a life support.
He died on Saturday afternoon after his life support machine was switched off, family members revealed.
Since the attack, a 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with one count of murder and two of attempted murder.
The boy is said to have first shot dead his father at their nearby home before moving on to the school.
Announcing Jacob's death, his older brother Gerald Gambrell wrote on Facebook: "God took his strongest soldier.
"Jacob will be with us forever and always in our hearts. I love you little brother and I can't wait till the day we meet again".
Jacob's death makes him one of the youngest victims of a school shooting in then US since a 2012 rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, where 20 children between ages six and seven were shot dead.
