Bill Clinton: It's about time I stood in for Hillary
Bill Clinton stood in for his wife Hillary at a Las Vegas rally, saying the Democratic presidential candidate was "feeling great" and would likely be back on the campaign trail on Thursday.
"I'm glad to have a chance to stand in for Hillary today - she did it for me for a long time, it's about time I showed up and did it for her," he said.
"I just talked to her, she's feeling great and I think she'll be back out there tomorrow."
Clinton dismissed the controversy and spotlight placed on his wife's health, and called on Americans to choose "answers, not anger", and elect Hillary.
The former US president also suggested that Donald Trump's call to "make America great again" was a code for taking the US 50 years back in time.
He also criticised Trump's proposals to deport 11 million undocumented immigrants and build a wall across the Mexican border.
“The worst thing we could do is spend that kind of money on a wall that would be better spent on bridges, roads and airports,” Clinton said.
