Chinese diver proposes during Rio medal ceremony

She may have missed out on Olympic gold but Chinese diver He Zi's disappointment was swiftly eased when her team-mate and boyfriend proposed at her medal ceremony.

Luckily for Qin Xai - who had plucked up the courage to get down on one knee to propose in front of thousands of spectators in the diving venue and millions watching around the world - He Zi said yes.

"We've been dating for six years, but I didn't expect him to propose today," she said afterwards.

"He said a lot of things, made a lot of promises, but I think the thing that touched me the most is I think this is the guy I can trust for the rest of my life."

It's not the first proposal to take place at the Rio games.

Last week, Marjorie Enya walked on to the pitch to propose to her girlfriend and Brazil women's rugby sevens star Isadora Cerullo.
