First new Stone Roses song in 21 years is released
The Stone Roses have released their first song in 21 years to rave reviews from fans.
The Manchester band only revealed details of new song, All For One, earlier on Thursday before it was premiered on Annie Mac's Radio 1 show just before 8pm.
All For One is the band's first studio material since they split in 1995, despite reforming in 2012 for a reunion tour.
Some fans have compared the new song to the band's self-titled debut album, praising the All For One's psychedelic pop sound.
Andy Burnham MP wrote: "How good is that new @thestoneroses single? Absolutely brilliant. #AllForOne."
Musician and radio presenter - and former keyboard player with fellow 'Madchester' band Inspiral Carpets - Clint Boon, tweeted: "Nice work boys. The world just got better xxx #StoneRoses
And cheeky presenting duo Any and Dec got in on the action tweeting: "OMG! That new @stoneroses song. Love it!"
Earlier this year, singer Ian Brown told the NME the band had been recording at Church Studios in north London and declared their new music as “glorious”.
Last year, bassist Mani told Gigslutz that the band had "been working on a few bits" and a new album was coming in "2015 man, 2015!"
The band had dropped hints that a comeback single was imminent earlier in the week, with the group's famous yellow lemon logo appearing on billboards around their home town of Manchester.
Fans may get a chance to hear the new material later this summer as the Stone Roses take to the road again, including four nights at Manchester City's Etihad stadium.
