Rebel Wilson issues spiked drinks warning after incident at 'trendy club'
Hollywood actress Rebel Wilson has warned her fans of the dangers of spiked drinks after revealing she may have been drugged on a night out.
The Australian - best known for her roles in Pitch Perfect and Bridesmaids - tweeted that a drink at a "trendy club" had left her "super tired and disorientated".
She said she realised "something wasn't quite right" after only a third of the drink and had time to get home "before it really hit me".
The 36-year-old said she woke up "feeling like I'd been hit by a truck" the following morning.
"I never thought that would happen to me," she added.
She recounted the incident in a series of tweets as she urged her fans to take care while out drinking.
Wilson did not say where the incident took place but had been reportedly seen in Los Angeles earlier in the day.
Hundreds of people are thought to be victims of drink spiking every year in the UK, including so-called "date rape drugs".
The NHS said many incidents go unreported due to embarrassment or memory loss.
Drink spiking can result in a maximum of 10 years in prison though higher sentences can be handed down if an assault, rape or robbery also takes place.
