Ryanair stag-party groom apologises for friends' 'unacceptable' behaviour that forced flight to land
A groom whose rowdy stag-party members caused the flight they were on to make an unscheduled landing in Germany has apologised, saying his friend's behaviour was "unacceptable".
Six members of the 12-strong group were said to have become unruly while on a Ryanair flight from Luton airport to Bratislava, the Slovakian capital.
According to passengers, one of the group exposed himself while others were fighting.
A video of the incident published by the Sun newspaper, showed one member of the group swearing and then punching another man.
Their behaviour led the pilot to make an unscheduled stop at Schoenefeld airport in Berlin to remove the brawling party goers.
Six members of the group were given cautions by German police, according to a police statement.
Groom Joshua Mariner, 26, said he was not among those arrested.
The Southern Daily Echo published a statement from Mr Mariner in which he said: "The lads' behaviour was unacceptable and they will now have to suffer the consequences of their actions.
"It was reported by German police that I was one of the lads arrested which isn't true and I will be seeking legal advice as it has caused a lot of distress for me and my family."
Ryanair said it would not tolerate "unruly or disruptive behaviour at any time" on its flights and that the matter was now with the police.
