Frank Bruno has Tweeted that the British Boxing Board of Control will not grant him a license to return to the ring.

The news comes after 54-year-old Bruno appeared on ITV's This Morning programme today and sensationally revealed that he would like to return to the sport that made him a household name in the 1980's and 90's.

Bruno has not boxed professionally since 1996 when he was knocked out by Mike Tyson.

In recent years he has suffered from mental health issues and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2003.
