Ten-year-old boy's wish for rapper to see his 'Eminem legs' granted
Hip-hop star Eminem has made one British ten-year-old boy very happy after personally responding to his wish for the rapper to see his prosthetic "Eminem legs".
Teejay Stainer, who was born without a calf bone in his right leg, leading to its amputation at 14 months, had customised his prosthetics in tribute to his musical hero, whose lyrics in songs such as "Survival" and "Guts over Fear", are credited with making him "feel brave".
His parents had posted of him on Facebook in July holding up a sign that read, "These are my Eminem legs I've had made. My wish is for Eminem to see them."
The image then was shared over 20,000 times by well-wishers to help Teejay get the rapper's attention, and it worked.
Eminem sent a personally signed copy of his 2010 album Recovery to Teejay's home in Andover, Hampshire, with a note that said "I saw your pic and read your message! Thanks for the support!".
The school boy told the Daily Echo: "I was amazed when I saw the CD. I just wanted to thank him for getting me through the difficult times and show him how dedicated I am."
Teejay's mother, Georgina said: "His father and I are both hip hop fans, so he's been listening to Eminem nearly all his life.
"We have always taught him to listen to the lyrics and their meanings and as Eminem raps about surviving difficult times, it makes him feel brave".
