Footage shows moment TV journalist and cameraman are shot dead during live interview

A gunman has killed two US journalists during a live interview in Virginia.

WDBJ7 reporter Alison Parker, 24, and cameraman Adam Ward, 27, were interviewing a guest at a shopping centre in Moneta when they were gunned down on Wednesday morning.

Screams of "Oh my god" were heard as the gunman opened fire.

The shooter, dressed in dark clothing, is seen aiming his weapon before the broadcast cuts back to the shocked news anchor.

ITV News has decided not to show footage of the actual shooting.

WDBJ7's general manager confirmed that both of his employees had been killed in a statement read out live on air.

Vicki Gardner, the woman who was being interviewed, has been rushed to hospital after being shot in the back, according to reports.

Armed police have now launched a manhunt for the gunman who is still at large.

Schools in the surrounding area have been put on lockdown.
