50 Cent fans create website to help boost 'Piggy Bank'
Diehard fans of 50 Cent have set up a fundraising website they hope will enhance the US rapper's finances following his filing for bankruptcy.
Curtis James Jackson III - to use his full name - applied for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in his home state of Connecticut last week and now loyal fans of the 'In Da Club' hitmaker have launched help50cent.tumblr.com to help him out of his predicament.
The 'Make 50 Cent rich again!' website asks visitors to help boost the rappers earnings by listening to his 2005 hit 'Piggy Bank' on music streaming service Spotify.
As the website editors note: "Spotify pays the artist $0.0011 per play so let's click away his bankruptcy."
The fundraising attempt has so far raised $13.35 (£8.56).
Court documents filed to a court in the city of Hartford show that Jackson has reported assets and debts which are both between $10 million and $50 million (£6.4 million to £32.1 million)
Last Friday a jury told 50 Cent to pay $5 million to a woman who sued him over a sex tape of hers he had acquired.
