Rock singer makes near-impossible beer catch at festival

The lead singer of Dutch rock band John Coffey pulled off an astounding feat of dexterity at the weekend, catching a beer thrown at him whilst on a crowd-walk.

During a break in their set, intrepid rocker David Achter de Mole set off on a crowd-walk when a fan hurled a cup of what appears to be beer at him.

He then plucks the cup out of the air and promptly drinks before calmly tossing the empty vessel over his shoulder.

The incredible throw was caught by cameras at the Pinkpop Festival in the Netherlands, with many people online calling the apparent catch the "most rock 'n' roll thing ever."

An alternative angle shows the pint pot sailing towards de Mole from an incredible distance before he casually catches it to the cheering adulation of the crowd.

Arnoud van der Toorn, a representative from the band's record label told ITV News that this million-to-one shot was completely un-staged and not "a spoof":

The band also responded on Twitter, reminding new followers that as well as drinking beer they also make music.
