Ex-Thomas Cook chief to donate £3m worth of shares to charity
Former Thomas Cook CEO Harriet Green has been called "shameful and greedy" by commentators in recent days. This is because she is shortly due to receive a payout from the travel firm.
The parents who lost their children, Bobbi and Christi Shepherd, on a Thomas Cook holiday in 2006 were sickened by this.
Harriet Green was in charge in the aftermath of the tragedy from 2012.
The parents, Neil and Sharon, say they got no apology from her on behalf of the company - and despite writing to her requesting a meeting, they did not get one.
Today, ITV News learned that she will offer just over two million shares - a third of her expected entitlement - to charity. These we estimate could be worth around £3.3m million pounds.
The Thomas Cook remuneration committee meets next month to fix the exact payout, which is dependent on contractual performance.
The grieving parents are yet to comment.
